SmartMeals
As restrictions are lifted and we return from multiple lockdowns, the full effect of the global pandemic on Australia’s hospitality sector is now being realised. As a nation we faced many challenges - mental health crisis, increases in domestic violence and job and food insecurity.
The SmartMeals program, run by homelessness charity StreetSmart, provides nutritious, ready-made meals for vulnerable people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. The program also funds food based social enterprises that are providing training and job skills to their vulnerable staff. We are proud to partner with SmartMeals to help them take action against hunger and provide opportunities.
As of August 2022, over 290,500 SmartMeals have been delivered across Australia thanks to hospitality venues and social enterprises partners that took part in the campaign. At the moment, there are 7 partners cooking 858 meals a week for homeless charities across the country, providing meals and jobs for vulnerable people.

Common Ground
Australia is built on a story that ignores its true history. It’s essential to bridge the knowledge gap that exists in our country, which is the underlying cause of so much prejudice, inequality and disadvantage. We feel deeply privileged to live in a country which is the home of the oldest living culture, and to live and work on unceded land. We still have a lot to learn but we are committed to helping break down the divides between non-Indigenous Australians and First Nations people.
Common Ground work tirelessly to strengthen First Nations cultures and to challenge systems of power so that First Nations people can have control over their futures. They are a First Nations-led not-for-profit who amplify First Nations voices, knowledge and stories; campaign to make changes in the education and justice systems; and develop new ways of celebrating and strengthening culture so it can be shared with future generations.
Common Ground provides us with an opportunity to learn from First Nations people and connect with their culture. It’s up to us to listen and to contribute towards positive change. Together we can shape an Australia that centres First Nations people, so that every person can thrive.
